What we collect and why
Soft-gate and Instant Form emails are used only to deliver the Daily World Briefing and related World Desk messages. We do not sell your email. There are no ads on the briefing.
No credit card is required to read the free briefing or to use the soft-gate path.
Cancel anytime
Go to https://theworlddesk.news/cancel (or /cancel) — one click. The same cancel link is also in every email.
Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number, we use it only to:
- send the texts you asked for: a daily link to that day's briefing (about 1 text a day) and sign-in codes when you request them;
- answer texts and voicemails you send us.
What we keep: your number, when and how you agreed to texts, and the texts and voicemails you send us. Voicemails are stored as audio with a written transcript so we can reply. We delete voicemail audio after 90 days.
Who handles them: Telnyx, our phone and text provider, carries the messages for us. Cloudflare, our web host, stores them.
No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text message opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
To stop: reply STOP to any text, or email briefing@theworlddesk.news. To restart, reply START. Stopping texts does not cancel your subscription.
